Yesterday evening I had an exciting win over a very good player in the local chess tournament.
Before we started the organiser advised me to play slow and think not just twice but thrice before making a move.
Also, he described the opponents usual tactics – take out some pawns and then do piece for piece.
And that’s the tactic I used!
I nearly ran out of time but for some weird reason my opponent stopped pressing his time button – maybe he knew he had lost.
It’s true, there is a high buzz when, in a tournament, you win a game of chess.
